Hey guys
well as requested i've done some costume designs for a new He-Man motion picture, and as you asked i've posted them up in the gallery so check it out and please let me know what you think - i'd love to hear your views/likes/dislikes and opinions!
I've tried to stay faithful to the original characters to the main extent as my bone of contention with the original masters movie was that they changed them all too much - so bearing that in mind i've tried to stay faithful whilst making it a little darker and gothic.
Check em out and hope you like them!!

Re: Costume Designs for New Movie
Wed, June 15, 2005 - 6:39 PMrockin pics dude! At first I was all like, I like the four horsemen's toys better, but then I was like... DUH this is for a movie concept you twit! Then I looked at them again and I was like, ooooh, that's pretty cool!
I like how Man-At-Arms is much more gladiator-like although, I may have gone one step further and give him a sort of cage/faceplate and dispensed with his signature mouth cover thingy. Then again, like I said, that's pretty signature Mat-At-Arms so I could just be an idiot for wanting to get rid of it.
Teela also looks good. I like all the flowing hair and that haughty air. I'd give her some slightly bigger boobs though. We don't want those curvy booby thingies to overpower her (un?)natural femininity.
Beast Man is a little too beasty for my liking, but if they did another He-Man movie, I imagine that's exactly what he'd look like. It's really hard to conceptualize what Beast Man would really look like in a movie, but you did a bang-up job.
I love everything you did with Evil-Lynne, especially the helmet and the tattered skirt. You SO rocked her.
Ditto with the skull man himself. I especially like the patterning you did on his skin. That movie Skeletor looked like some sort of pasty man-pig, but your sketch did the boss skull justice.
OMG, the Sorceress is workin that catwalk isn't she?! The only problem, and this ain't your fault, is that I don't care who the fuck you are, NO ONE can make feathers look good. I am of the opinion that feathers always have, and always will look awful. Great design though. If they were like little metal shingles or sequins or something, they'd be way cooler but then again, the Sorceress is all about the bird thing. :( The cut of her dress looks great and I've always been a sucker for big capes and radial symmetry.
He-Man looks good, but I just can't get on board with his head. Sorry dude, he looks like Michael Jackson with a medusa weave. There seems to be a slightly reptilian quality about him which is interesting but I don't know if it jive with the He-Man I know and love.
Overall, great work! And thanks for sharing. It ain't easy to put yourself out there, but you did and that takes balls, two balls, two big balls, two big sweaty....
... <ahem> where was I? Oh yes! I can't wait to see She-Ra concepts!
